abcde is the debut album from Ebby, the solo outlet of Doortje Hiddema (also of Sacrificial Chanting Mood). Written and recorded in the solitude of her living room throughout 2024, abcde is an intensely personal statement. A collection of 11 songs full of joy and sadness where rough edges and unfinished thoughts are an essential part of the creative process. The sound is deliberately raw and unpolished, with a sense of almost falling apart—like sketches captured in the moment. ‘I wanted to make an album with the freedom of a child experiencing playing an instrument for the first time’. abcde embraces and celebrates the beauty of imperfection and the fleeting nature of ideas and feelings.
